डॉ. उषाकर झा मेमोरियल स्कालरशिप

डा. उषाकर झा (13 अप्रैल 1938-20जून2006) राजनीति विज्ञानक प्रोफेसर रहथि। हिनक व्‍यक्‍तित्‍व मे आधुनिकता आओर धार्मिक्‍ताक एहन मिश्रण छल जाहि मे संपूर्ण मानव समुदायक प्रति अदम्‍य प्रेम आओर सामाजिक आ नैतिक उत्‍थानक लेल सदैब तत्‍परता भरल छलन्‍हि।

सरिसब-पाही मे जनमल(पं. दिवाकर झाक पुत्र) आ लक्ष्‍मीश्‍वर एकेडमी सँ मैट्रीक कयलाक बाद, पटना कालेज आ तदुपरांत पटना विश्‍वविद्‍यालय सँ पी.एच.डी धरि डिग्री प्राप्‍त क डा. उषाकर झा दरभंगाक चंद्रधारी मिथिला महाबिद्यालय मे लेक्‍चरर’क पद पर नियुक्‍त भेलाह। समयक क्रमे रीडर आ प्रोफेसर बनि, अपने छात्र एवं सहकर्मी दुनु’क बीच अत्‍यंत लोकप्रिय रही। अस्‍सीक दशक सँ ओ ललित नारायण विश्‍वविद्यालय मे कालेज कालेज कार्डिनेटर आ प्रो-वाइसचांसलरक पद सहित बिभिन्‍न प्रशासनिक पद पर रहथि।

एकटा कर्मठ आ बिद्वता सम्‍पन्‍न शिक्षकक संगहि कक्षा सँ बाहर कालेजक अन्‍यान्‍य क्षेत्र मे सक्रियता एवं समाजक वैचारिक उत्‍थानक प्रति सजग सहभागिता हिनक छवि एहन बुद्धिजीवीक बनबैत अछि जे समाज आ परिवेश सँ कहियो कटल नहि, हरदम जूरले रहल।अपनेक दिशा-निर्देश सं बहुतो पीढ़ीक ज्ञान-कर्म आ जीवन संयोजित भेल।

अपने देश-विदेश मे घुमल छलहुँ आ अनेको दिशा-देश सँ ज्ञान-विद्या आ अनुभवक जुटान केने रही। नामी-गामी कानफ्रेंस आ समायोजन इत्‍यादि मे, जाहि मे अंतराष्‍ट्रिय राजनीति शास्‍त्र एसोसियेसनक अधिवेशन( वाशिंगटन आ पेरिस मे) शामिल अछि, अपने बौद्धिक आलेख प्रस्‍तुत कयल आ अध्‍यक्षता सेहो कयलहुँ।

पढ़बा-लिखबाक उत्‍कट इच्‍छाक संगे संग हिनका मे किताब जमा करबाक आ पुस्‍तकालय सबहक लेल किताब दान करबाक असाधारण गुण छलन्‍हि। जहिना ई ज्ञान-दाता रहथि तहिना बस्‍तु-जात आ द्रव्‍य-मूल्‍यक दानी सेहो।

हिनक सामाजिक व्‍यक्‍तित्‍वक स्‍मरण मे आ नव-तुरिया प्रतिभाक प्रोत्‍साहन देबाक हिनक मूल चरित्र के सदिखन जीवंत रखबाक अभिलाषा सं हिनक परिवारक सदस्‍य-गण, ग्राम-समुदाय’क सहयोग द्वारा किछ सामाजिक हितार्थ-निर्वाह कर चाहैत छथि। अहि क्रम मे, लक्ष्‍मीश्‍वर एकेडमी’क विद्‍यार्थी के छात्र-वृति देबा सँ शुरुआत भेल अछि।

डा. उषाकर झा लक्ष्‍मीश्‍वर एकेडमी सँ विद्यारंभ कयने रहथि आ आशा अछि जे ई छात्र-वृति अहि विद्‍यालय’क अगुलका पीढ़ी’क लेल उत्‍साह बढ़बैत रहतैक आ एकटा ग्रामीणक स्‍मृति शेष रहत।

Dr. Ushakar Jha (13 April 1938-20 June 2006) was a Professor of Political Science. A firm believer in Nehruvian modernity, he was also a deeply religious person with immense humanist zeal for social and moral well-being.

Born and brought up in the village Sarisab-Pahi (Madhubani), Bihar, he completed his intermediate and graduation from Patna College and university degrees from Patna University. An excellent teacher loved by his students and academic fraternity, he spent most of his life in Chandradhari Mithila College and Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga as an academician and administrator of repute. A committed intellectual for welfare of the community, Dr. Ushakar Jha possessed catholic taste for readings and collecting books in particular and for his approach to life in general.

He had traveled widely and made presentations as well as chaired sessions at various academic platforms in the field of Political Science including conferences of the International Political Science Association held at Washington D.C. and Paris. He had an open mind that neither hesitated to welcome ideas and nor faltered even once to judge them critically.

Following his retirement, he moved back to his village where he died in 2006.

To celebrate his social commitment and his zeal for promoting young minds, his family members have conceived an idea to start a series of programmes with an aim to pay homage to his spirit and ideas.

Instituted in 2008, Dr। Ushakar Jha Memorial Scholarship is a small initiative in this direction with the objective of promoting young achievers in the field of school education. This annual scholarship is awarded to the student for securing first position in the school, Lakshmishwar Academy, Sarisab-Pahi (Madhubani) in Bihar Secondary School Examination.

Dr. Ushakar Jha was an alumni of Lakshmishwar Academy. We hope that this scholarship will act as a source of inspiration for the future generations of his beloved school and keep his memory alive.
